Pumpkin Soup

Last week we made pumpkin soup from the garden. we first got in to groups and cut the pumpkin in half and scooped all the in side out. after that we out butter onion garlic and salt and pepper. Then the teachers cooked and blended it up. I did not like the pumpkin soup.

Last week we did financial literacy what happens is you get a pay card and you are either a salary earner or a wage. You usually get around 600 to 800 dollars a week. Now you get a tax and mortgage card and then you take that out of your weekly pay. Now you get a groceries bill to add up and that gets taken out of you weekly pay. Next you get a fortune card and that can make or break you. 10% of them give you money and the rest make you pay money. You repeat the process for 4 weeks. Then at the end you have to pay Sky TV, Insurance, Stuff for your car, Phone, Internet and Electricity. Now you get your budget savings sheet you put your left over money and put it in there then it changes to 4 numbers. At the end of the month I had $212 left so I could add it to my savings account.  Not everybody had money left.  Some people were in debt so they had to borrow the money out of their savings account to get their working account to a $0 balance.

This activity was really fun and if you have the chance to do it you should try it.
